An Development Application (DA-2018/158) has been lodged to redevelop 475 – 501 Victoria Avenue. The property is located between the Pacific Highway and the railway, diagonally opposite Chatswood RSL.

The proposal is to demolish the buildings on the site and erect two new buildings. One a four storey commercial building, the other a fifteen storey hotel.

Whilst Chatswood has a variety of accommodation styles, only one traditional style overnight hotel is listed on the accommodation search engines.

The current cross block pedestrian link is to be retained.

An interesting element of the development is a ‘trafficable roof area’ on the top of the four storey building. It is unclear what the actual use of this area would be.

There will be some impacts on the public domain:
