John was a stalwart of the Association for many years. He undertook to personally deliver up to around 25% of our newsletters to high rise apartments along the Pacific Highway, Mowbray Rd and the CBD.
John was dogged in during the planning phases of what was known as ‘Locality J’, the area between Chatswood High School and the Pacific Highway. He attended every meeting held about the issue including addressing the Commissioner who was to determine the matter. This result in some reduction in the heights of buildings.
During the construction of buildings within Locality J, John could be seen out checking building heights and garage ramp corner gradients.
His cheefulness and his attention to detail to developers drawings added pleasure and confidence to our meetings.
John was respected as a man of the utmost integrity and very well liked by other members.
