A recent study into the cost of common items installed by Councils came up with some extraordinary results. The study found the the coast to Councils for various items were:

• picnic seat – $4,700
• Pedestrian crossing $5,500
• Roundabout – $35,000
• Signalised intersection – $219,000
• Single toilet block – $100,000
